I started weekly riding lessons about 8 years ago under Jennifer Weidhaas (of the Equus Centre). A short time later, my mother also became interested and joined me in lessons. In 1997, we purchased our first two horses (Abby and Cocoa). I spent a number of years showing local Hunter/Jumper competitions, riding Abby or a horse belonging to the barn. But as my interest in Dressage grew, it became apparent I needed to move up to another horse... something younger and more appropriate for the job. So we bought 3 year-old Presto from Jen and I started him under saddle.
In 2002, I began travelling to Port Williams each week to ride under Level 3 Dressage coach, Susan Fraser. Although it's an hour and half drive up, and an hour and a hour drive back home... it's certainly worth it!
